I've got a FL vRS estate and there appears to a small light in the storage comparment immediately in front of the gear lever (optionally an ash tray on some vehicles I guess).

Is this actually a light because it never illuminates (regardlesss of whether the cover is open or the vehicle lights are on). Is this compartment illuminated on anyone elses car?

Additionally does anyone know what standard of car comes with a cupholder in the rear of the 'high/tall' centre console - cup holder for rear seat passengers. The vRS just has a large storage tray and I wonder whether I could get it swopped out for the cupholder.

I think it is illuminated on the L&K, there is no bulb or holder on the vRS

i'd wondered about the tal rear centr console too, as illustrtaed in the handbook. My elegance estate has a flip down ashtray/storage compartment beneath the air vents. i think my young son would find a cupholder more useful! (as would most rear passengers nowadays: I don't think there is a cup holder in the back, including in the rear centre armrest)
