Loss of wheel nut covers

Featured Replies

I come to give my car a bit of once over with a cloth this morning only to find three wheel nut covers missing on three wheels. All the locking wheel nut cover. I've lost four in total now. I think I've read threads of old on here of people having the same problem - is that right? Who else has suffered from this - and why do they seem to come off in normal driving?? Any suggestions of how to keep them on or indeed has anyone had any luck getting Skoda to folk out for them? I know they're only a few quid but they really shouldn't come off during driving.

I've lost 3 as well, all the locking ones, too had to buy full set off e-bay(£8.25) having bought them i realised that they do come off far too easy-so i applied a little glue to them-then after a week i tried to see if i could get one off and i could with a certain amount of resistance i dont think i am going to loose any more.

Had the same problem , a lump of bluetack inside the cover holds them on, and yes it was only the locking wheel nut covers that had the problem.

Welcome to the' loose nut cover club' - treated my alloys to some super slick Jetseal 109 which appeared to make the covers slip off very easily since I immediately lost three of them, again from the locking nuts.

They are now all fixed by applying a little tape to the inside of the covers in order to achieve a snugger fit - so far so good - really should not have to bodge in this way in order to keep them on !

Couldn't agree more. Why don't they just fit and stay on? Surely it can't be that hard! I wonder if cars from other manufacturers have this problem. Hard to believe it's just a Skoda problem but it's certainly frustrating whatever. I may have a rany at the local Skoda pusher and see what thewy have to say.

Sounds like i'll be needing the old ones of my fab vrs never lost one until a tyre fitter didn't put them back on and i forgot!!!

Maybe its a cheaper quality part to try and reduce costs??
