Heating/air con interferes badly with LongWave

Being a sad cricket fan, trying to listen to radio coverage is near impossible if the heating is running at all. The fan seems to really badly interfere with the signal, it becomes almost inaudible beyond the noise.

The unit works fine on FM and CD.

In the old days on minis etc, I used to fit a suppressor but then that used to affect tape as well as radio?

(Mind you the way the current match is going, I'm better off not being able to hear it!!!)
