Centre cap removal

Featured Replies

Hi All - does anyone have a good trick for removing the centre caps on 17" Solids? (preferably without removing the wheels)

I want to replace the stickers, and assume that the centre cap is just plastic and pops in. Does anybody know if there's any holes in the caps behind the original metal stickers that can be used to hook the caps out?

Thanks....................Sam

No holes in the caps normally, so unfortunately it wheel off and push them out with something like the handle of a screwdriver.

Bugger - they do indeed have slots in them so you can hook them out.......... glad I'd only removed one wheel before discovering this!

If you replacing the stickers you could always drill a hole in the center, screw in a self tapping screw and use that to pull the center out, when you replace the sticker it will cover the hole you drilled, the center caps are plastic by the way and you can order the whole thing, badge and center cap, of ebay just need the badge size, this is how I did mine with now probs and damage to the alloys,
