Odd Electrical Prob

Featured Replies

I was changing the rear offside brake bulb yesterday and seem to have woken an electrical gremlin.

While getting access to the bulb holder I managed to break the interior boot light (estate version), This allowed one of the contacts to short on the other.

Since then there is a whole raft of things not working:

All interior lights

Electric windows (front and back)

Electric sunroof

Remote central locking

Intermittantly the car thinks a door's open (definitely all closed)

Are all of these things on the same circuit? Presume a fuse has gone - does anyone know which fuse it would be and where i'd find it?

thanks for any help

The interior lights, electric sunroof and remote locking are all controlled by the Convenience System Control System. The individual circuits have their own fuses so there is no common fuse.

There are two fuses that feed the Convenience System - fuses 10 and 14 in the fuse panel. Both are 10A.

It may be that the Convenience System has become confused by the "spark" or heavy load. Try disconnecting the battery (with a door open) for five minutes to see if that resets it. Otherwise it means getting someone to read the diagnostic codes (may even want to do this first).

Best of luck,

Mike

How good is this? I joined to find out where to get some bits and pieces and now find out my old girl has a known fault. I had changed the bulb in my puddle light. It doesnt work then reading this thread I realise my lights on buzzer doesnt work and that my door relocks even after opening. You devils now this is going to bug the life out of me until I get it fixed.

Thanks
