Test drive suspension setups Southampton

Featured Replies

Hi All

I am looking at getting some suspension upgrades done on my car. I was going to start with a roll bar then possibly gets some weitecs. My only concern in the ride height of the weitecs however looking around on the forum I have read you can set these at the same height as the standard suspension.

If I wasn't to go down this route then possibly new shocks with standard springs. The later is only a thought and don't wish to pay out for brand new shocks all round if I am am going to see little gain (opinions appreciated).

Does anybody have a car with a roll bar but standard suspension around the Southampton area and be willing to take me out so I can get an idea of the gains? Also if anybody has weitecs or another setup with a rollbar a passenger ride would be great also.

Thanks all

James

Standard springs/dampers with a rear anti roll bar & poly bushes are a really good compromise between comfort and handling. I ran mine for years like this before I fitted my coilovers.

If you don't mind waiting a month, pop along to the JKM rolling road meet. I'll be there and I'll happily take you for a ride in mine which is running AP coilovers, rarb and polybushes. Might be a couple of others who'd give you a ride in theirs also.

Well done that man, I was just about to suggest the same thing

Standard Shocks and Springs, with Whiteline RARB.

Mine also has SuprePro Bushes for Front Anti-Roll bar, wishbone (front only) and then Dogbone.

I would recommend this before you go down the route of full shocks and springs or coilies as these items would need doing anyway, but it will give you chance to spread the cost and these items do make a world of difference over standard anyway.

Unless S+S are an absolute necessary due to your current ones being shot.

I also wouldn't mind a sit in somebody elses car with Weitec's or Koni FSD with H&R springs if poss.

Guys Thanks for the kind offers I intend to pop along although I don't wish to have my Car put on RR (Is this going to cause an issue) as I think it would be bad for my bank balance.

Quite happy with the power just frustrated with the roll.
