Octavia VRS juddering - help!

Featured Replies

I've got a 2 1/2 year old (from new) Octavia Vrs estate. I'd really appreciate any advice if anyone else has had the same problem.

The car is running really badly....it judders in 4th 5th and 6th. It's significant juddering that shakes the dashboard!

It's going into the garage, but any thoughts on what it might be would be helpful so that I can at least 'pretend' to know something about it!!

After 8 years of owning Skodas without a problem I'm disappointed!

Thank you!

Is the juddering a vibration coming through the car? if so you may have a deformed rear tyre or damaged wheel,if the juddering is engine related you may have a faulty coil pack,is the engine management light on?

Hi there - thanks for replying.

The juddering feels like then you change gear too early. It doesn't improve with speed - it gets worse.

No engine management lights on at all.

I think it is engine related so perhaps it is a faulty coil pack (why no light though?). It's still under warranty so fingers crossed.

deffo sound like coil pack

cheep fix at around 25 quid per coil.

i had same problem last year

i had engine ticking over & pulled 1 coil off at a time if ebgine makes no sound differance its that coil pack that needs changing

good luck

Sounds very much like coil pack(s), particularly if it gets worse as the engine warms up, and/or under heavier engine load.
