Fitting cup holder

Featured Replies

Guys,

I want to fit a cup holder.

http://www.theskodashop.co.uk/product/Fabia_6Y_%3C07_In_Dash_Cup_Holder_(Elegance)_6Y0862531H47H

Now for the stupid questions. I'm totally mechanically challenged so I need some help.

Can you provide steps on how to fit this?

Can the cup holder only be fitted on the passengers side or can it also be fitted driver side?

Many Thanks,

Mully.

if you search cup holder in this forum there are a couple of threads already.

As far as i know its prety easy a case of taking out the facia panels at the side of the radio.

Yeah, pop out the tall, thin bit of trim down the side of the stereo, and then the cup holder goes in its place. One or two screws, but that's it AFAIK. It will only fit on the passenger side, as there is no cut-out in the dash on the driver's side (see below, but ignore the arrow!)

...that's a deliberate feature, as you'd keep banging your hand on it when you steered if it were on the driver's side.

If you only want to drink from 330ml cans, I think have a Fabia cupholder that goes where the ashtray thingy is in front of the gearstick somewhere in the garage - you can have that instead if you'd like! :)

theres one that goes in the ashtray that could be relitvly usefuls seeing as i dont smoke and the pop out holder would hid on my aftermarket stereo ill look into that.

day mean to hijack thread btw! :giggle:

Hi ap0gee, Do I need to remove the radio console to fit it?

I don't think so, but I don't have one myself, so can't say for certain...
