Thermostats, and temp Gauge Low

Featured Replies

If your Felicia thermostat goes, the car will run cooler than usual and the temp gauge will not come up. You are likely to find that one of two plastic lugs inside the housing has failed, so that the thermostat. spring assembly is not retained as it should be. You are likely to find that the scrapyard thermostats have either already gone, or have the same fault. DO NOT buy an identical replacement, because it will go the same way before long. Search instead for a new type thermostat housing, in which the thermostat and spring are retained by a large circlip, not by two pathetic little plastic lugs. You can get 'em on ebay. Replacement takes minutes. Don't forget to get all the bits of the old thermostat housing out before fitting the new one. Hope this helps
