Had to hacksaw the nut off one of my track rod ends tonight,

Register on this website mate: http://www.vagcat.com/

Then you can login and view all the exploded diagrams and part numbers. Pretty handy!

According to ETKA, the whole thing is

1J0 422 803 B (left)

1J0 422 804 B (right)

That's for the bar, the nut that attaches the tie-rod end to the bar, the tie-rod, and the nut that attaches it the suspension/axle area.

thanks a million for that mate, ordered the parts at the stealership this morning, so will be spending next weekend doing my ARB and steering rack (well attempting it for the second time anyway!) oh and my strut brace (clive :p )

i was at work with my car today anyway so it might have been a blessing in disguise as i have finally got round to wedging something in my rad mounts, cleaning my starter motor, cleaning my air filter, hoovering the car and sorting out my seat belts haha!

Oh by the way, the part numbers you gave me should apparantly have a "h" on the end instead of the "b", according to the monkey at the parts desk anyway

Thanks again buddy

I am not surprised by that at all as my ETKA is at least 2 to 3 years old and does not update itself. But usually the core part numbers are correct per the original items fitted, but I never get to know about any updated parts. Might need to see if I can get a very recent version of ETKA from somewhere I guess.....

I need to replace one of mine, after I accidently bashed a curb on Thursday morning at 6.00am in the dark at speed. Tried to get the car tracked, but it was too bent :-(

Just been to skoda to pick up my track rods, £85 each!!!!!!!!!! What an absolute joke and complete rip off!

Needless to say I told the parts desk monkey to poke it, and just took the ends, for £22 each! Still

not hugely cheap!

Don't you have a GSF or similar near you? You're looking at less than £10 for a rod end and less than £30 for bar itself!
