damp in car

Featured Replies

Gents,

My 03 plate superb has condensation and damp inside it, seemingly concentrated at the rear. Checked footwells, seem OK - don't think it's coming in at the pollen filter.

My boot appears reasonably dry inside, but I have a feeling it may not be sealing properly as the gas lifters partially seized and I suspect things have moved somewhat, making a less efficient seal.

Any quick pointers on what to look for - any other common damp entry points?

if the carpet wet on the n/s only front to rear, they is drain hole underneath the battery. take the battery out unbolt bracket and your drain is they check and clear .do it soon than later because all your wires and a computer box is at the n/s front underneath the underlay ,the underlay soak the water up and wires joints will corrode and then trouble will start. if the carpet and the underlay is wet take out the front seat 2 bolts at the front, slide back the seat and take the seat out of the runners, you can lift the carpet up and if ness throw out the underlay if you cant dry out replace with house carpet underlay. Dry the wires check the joints some at the front foot well and the rear foot well, if the joints are blue replace
