Morning guys,

I had the air bag light came on and it had lot of faults recorded maily saying that all air bags had either high resistence or low resistance. When i deleted all fault codes, theres only one that came back saying air bag control unit faulty. This is the code 65535 but will post the log.

Now, i have done research and according to ross-tech this is the internal fault with control unit and control unit should be replaced for same part number. I have bought new control unit WITH SAME PART NUMBER, BUT i am UNABLE to code new unit to old control units coding?

DOES ANYONE HAVE LIST OF EQUPIMENT HOW TO GENERATE NEW CODE?

Be very careful with the airbag ecu, its quiet possible to accidently deploy your airbags.

It is important that you use the latest version of VCDS. Early versions have a problem with airbag controller 6Q0-909-605-A and can cause the 65536 problem

Yes i am very careful with this sort of thing and have read already what rwbaldwin said and visited ross-tech website for help.

My only issue is that my privious air bag control unit coding is 0068 and i am trying to code new air bag ecu to same coding but it just doesnt happen.

When you press the suggest coding button in VCDS does it suggest 0068?

What's the part number of the air bag ECU? I've got an archive of scans from various cars and could check them.
