Featured Replies

right i've been thinking today about tarting up the bodywork a bit on my pickup.

i'm either going to paint it with blackboard paint so i can write stuff on there with chalk or i'm going to do it with army like camoflage

opinions?

Blackboard! I love it :)

Have you been drinking? :giggle:

With a brush Tom :)

You'd need to flat the paint back for it to stick, otherwise it'd flake off very easily (probably first time you washed it).

I like Ken's suggestion - that or WW-period "dazzle" camouflage....

Given that the Felicia offers only limited protection in an accident. I think I would be reluctant to paint it in any colour scheme that would hide it . :S

haha, that's a question of your inertial fame of reference, but we won't go into the physics of that, that would be a whole thread of it's own, but to make it easy for the layman to understand all i'll say is this.. i drive so fast that i could watch a speeding bullet leaving a gun in slow motion :wonder:

anywho, darren are you insinuating that i actually bother to clean my pickup?? :giggle:

i'll probably just sand it down with an 80 grit and put the paint on with a roller

Yeah. I made a bad job of cleaning a transit of mine before I painted a couple of panels on it, and the paint flaked off in short order. I did another one and was very careful about cleaning and the prep (relatively speaking, it was a transit), and the bright green never flaked off.

That slow huh! My car and I are the only objects to ever have escaped from a black hole! ;)

Love those dazzle-camo scemes

One color on the one side and another on the other side ?

Or leave it on the streets somewhere, with a couple of spraycans next to it ?

(remember to attach a small sign: Do not paint ! )

I sprayed my toledo matt black and did that with rattle cans. Just used red scotch to key the lacquer, masked up and sprayed. Matt paints dont take much prep as they lay sorta like a powder coat in a thick dust. Ive just sprayed my alloys and didnt even key them just gave them a quick wipe and layed the paint on.
