Elegance - CD changer as standard or not??

Featured Replies

We're collecting our Octavia Elegance Estate tomorrow and have just realised that I diddn't see a CD changer anywhere in the car.

Reading the Skoda website it seems that it should be standard fitment? If so, where is it?

In the boot, on the passenger side... :)

Hmmm...... I'm sure it wasnt' anywhere to be seen. Is it on the floor or on the side ?

It's on the side, in a carpeted bracket...in the gap behind the wheel arch...

Oh, actually...on the estate, I think you have cubbyholes, so it's better hidden than that... :rubchin:

From memory, there is a large cubby hole type job in the middle that lifts up to reval a huge hide-away space. Either side of this, in the space behind the wheel arches there are "pockets" about the size of a shoe box that have load securing eyes in the bottom.

I guess I'll have to wait until the morning to find it!

I'm not sure if you've had time to look for it, or if you've been too busy out in the new car! But anyway, lift up the estate's tailgate and on the left hand side, you'll see a sort of cubby hole flap with two thumbscrew fittings at the top. Slacken them and the flap opens downwards to reveal the CD autochanger. There's another cubby hole on the right hand side of the car. Mine was empty, so I've shoved a first aid kit in there.

Have fun!

There's a strap on the back of the RH one to hold a litre bottle of oil in place.

Guess I'd better buy some oil then! Cheers, Denis!

Your dealer should be able to sell you a topup kit which consists of a black vinyl case containing a litre of Castrol SLX Longlife II, a dipstick wipe, disposable gloves, disposable funnel, sticker for engine and plastic tag for dipstick showing what oil to use. PN is ZGB 00K 506 011 K and cost is

Thanks for the help, I found the changer yesterday - what a darn good place to hide it!!

I found a bottle of ready made up screen wash in the compartment where the spare wheel is, along with a tow rope, gaffer tape and the previous owners socket set!

Thanks Denis! I'll get onto the dealer in the morning and order a kit. Beats faffing around trying to find the correct oil when running low!

Oh! That's what it's for! I've got a fire extinguisher and a set of spare bulbs held in with the strap on my Fab! :o I do have a bottle of oil, but it sits nicely between my breakdown kit (which I hope never to use, like the extinguisher), the back of my CD changer, and the wheel arch. Oh well...
