swapping 2.0T vrs to FL 1.8 Elegnace

Featured Replies

advice please

my dream bubble burst this week ..... when the house we were after at the end of last year but was sold to someone else had fallen through and the offer we had put through last week has now been accepted (suprise suprise ...).... great in one way but unfortunaly this has put the blocks on me swapping me 57 plate VRS to a FL VRS in september, so i was car shopping yesterday for something that was going to be a bit cheaper, and apart from your fiestas/corsa and korean cars there are not many cars cheaper on the road

then after a visit to IKEA i popped in to the local dealer and there was a octavia elegance in there. NICE !!! not as sporty looking as me VRS but well spec,

has any current Elegance driveres got any comments , i was thinking about going fot the 1.8Tsi 160bhp which performance dosnt seem to bad

Do you really need to change your current car? Depreciation is the single biggest cost of running a car, and buying every 3 years is a mugs game!

The Elegance is a good spec, but I'd put a few options on it such as the sports wheels and suspension.

The 1.8TSI is a lovely engine. Unless you hoon it about everywhere you won't notice the difference in performance.

advice please

I've a FL 1.8tsi DSG and after c.5k miles it's loosening up and is starting to feel pretty quick. In fact occasionally it takes me by surprise as a touch of the throttle can cause it to move more than predicted. Having said that I don't routinely push it hard on the grounds of economy amongst other things. It revs easily but you don't really need it because of the spread of torque from low down. I doubt it handles as well as a vRS however, but depends if that's important to you.
