My 8 year old OEM battery in Hercules need replacing.

What are my options, OEM is out of the question, ????

Quantum batteries from the stealers or TPS aren't too badly priced, or you could get a Bosch or Yuasa with a 3 year guarantee.

Bought a Bosch for my TDI just before Christmas for about £50.

Halfords with a three years warranty should see you out...

hi mate, either halfords with a mates trade discount card......or costco, bosch silverline batteries about £55ish which are the ones i use!

Yeah I went for a Bosch Silver one with a 5yr warranty from Halfords. Used my trade card so got like £20 off.

It's nice having a battery with a fold up handle! Easier to lift out than the annoying OE Varta one.

Halfords web site quotes £100 odd, where do I get a discount card that gets me 50% off?

Bosch Silver looks good, it's the Halfords price at this time I question peeps.

Collected the Bosch battery, wrong one! GSF computor system list a 52Ah. :no:

Banner battery book lists 60Ah, this is the correct one as the 52Ah item was 1.5" shorter length wise.

Buyers at GSF, beware.

Try a local motor factors who sell Bosch batteries, they may be cheaper than GSF.

My TDI battery is a 72 Amp (I think, but definitely bigger than one for a petrol engine) and cost £52, but came from a little car shop near where I work.

Local TPS came up with a Quantum battery for £56 too.
