Clicking noise at full lock

Featured Replies

Hi all,

First post so hope it's all in order.

Had a search for a similar topic in the forum but to no avail.

First, thanks to those who contributed to the Water Ingress / Interior lights feedback and resolution details, fixed the interior lights and intend to fix the cause next weekend.

I have another issue with my Superb I 2.5 V6 TDI Comfort.

When setting off (low speed) and turning left or right, in between Full-lock and "nearly" full-lock, I get a clicking sound coming from the front of the car.

Any thoughts?

I'm no mechanic, so if it's not easy, I'll refer to a local garage.

Cheers

James.

btw. If anyone has a boot carpet spare / to sell, I need one to replace an oil-ridden one.

Probably worn outer driveshaft (CV) joints. Check the rubber boots surrounding the joints for damage and leakage of black grease - which usually ends up on the inside of the road wheel.

New joints can easily be fitted to the existing shafts. This is the best repair option as there are some cheap and nasty Chinese shaft assemblies around - best avoided.
