Thought I would introduce myself.......

I was kindly sent the briskoda link via another forum (avforums.com). I stuck my 10.5 year old VW Polo which I have had from new into the scrappage scheme and bought a nice new shiny Octavia 1.9 TDI SE. There was nothing wrong with the Polo, in fact over the 10 years costs of repairs came to a total of £500 !!!!!! but unfortunately we had out grown the car because of our two young children.

I am over the moon with the Octavia and everyone who has a look at it says what superb build quality it has, I have only had a couple of comments regarding the 'green Skoda badge' but its their loss if they won't consider one!!

Because we are so impressed, we are now considering getting rid of our 5 year old VW Touran and trading it in for a Skoda Yeti later in the year.

I am sure I will make use of this site over the next few years!!

Yes, have had the car for 1 month now, and have been really impressed. I was originally looking at a new Passat, but once I test drove the Octavia, it was a no brainer for value for money etc!!

The only thing I find is that there seems to be a lack of dealers within the area I live (Northants) so I had to travel to Leamington Spa to look at the car and subsequently purchase it. Apparently, a lot of the dealers around here have gone bust!!
