superb diesel automatic - problems

Featured Replies

Hi Looking for some help, I'm a taxi driver and owned Skoda Superbs since 2002.

My current car has over 200k and been fantastic until the past week.

The car is now in limp mode (no reverse) and according to the diagnosis, there is a problem with the transmission range switch F125..

has anybody ever had this and what was the solution

To make matters worse and I believe could also be adding to if not the problem, I have found the dreaded water ingress. There is water in both the passanger and drivers footwells.

Appreciate any help to resolve this

I'm not sure what the code is, but at 200k I'd say you had good use, my VX auto's couldn't seem to do anymore than about 80k before they slipped and went into limp mode, if you look about on autotrader in the next few weeks there will be a nice 100k example for sale as I'm about to px mine in for another car soon, 200k on an auto is fantastic mileage imo when you think of the stress on the box, if it helps at all it's generally the torque converter when they play up, although if you wanted to risk it a new filter and fresh oil may sort it out if the filter is simply blocked up and not supplying the oil around, if rpm is increasing and speed isn't the the TC will be to blame.

F215 - the transmission range switch is the gear selector.

The auto box should always have one of its inputs grounded so my guess is the reverse part of the gear selector switch or the corresponding wire is broken.
