Hi guys I have a 03 RS on 58k and I have noticed that when she warms up I get a tapping noise from the engine which sounds like tappets is this normal does anyone else get this as it is starting to bug me as I like my engines to be tapping free.

It could be the charcoal filter thingy, It has something to do with the emissions i think. Mine also makes a ticking noise

if it comes from a small black box on the drivers side of the bay its the coal filter,

it stores up fumes from the fuel and puts it back into the engine to be used when it is warm.

nothing to worry about

The fuel injectors also make a loud tapping noise when warm. This is normal.

Yeah my charcoal filter is stupidly loud too. Ticks away like a nutter!

I'm wondering if there's something wrong with it actually, but I've had no error codes off it.

Anyone know how much a new one is roughly?

they are £80 ish so from a dealer your lookin a tad more. I wanted to get one but not at that price, mine codes intermitant so It can stay as is lol.
