Aftermarket head unit

Featured Replies

Hello guys and girls. Just a quick note first to state this is my first post as a proud new owner of a 55 plate fabia vrs. I look forward to being a part of this community.

I really hope some one can helP as i have just brought an after market kenwood head unit and am going to attemp to fit it this weekend. I have removal keys and have just brought the surround top trim from skoda as well as an auto leads facia to see what is easier to fit. Please can some one post a step by step guide for me with poss images of what the facia looks like and what i need to undo to release. If poss please state what wires need to be changed round as some ppl said on here they have turned dashboard lights on by not disconeecting a certain wire. This would be so kind. Thank you so much MARTIN

Insert keys either side of the unit in the holes, and then pull the unit out

Once the unit is out disconnect the ISO loom and the aerial lead

you can now install the trim piece across the top and the cage for the new radio.

On the new radio you will need to swap the live with the ignition live lead (normally have bullets on their already) yellow and red (otherwise radio will loose settings)

For the aerial you will need an adaptor (german ISOto Jap DIN) and ensure their is a booster on it as you will struggle for radio reception.

Then you just need to install the new unit in the cage. (removng the air vents above can make this easier as well as the glove box.

Hope that Helps
