stage 2+ vrs

Featured Replies

hi everyone im currently running a oktavia vrs which has had a remap and an induction kit but i crave abit more power and im thinking of getting a full tbe and a hpfp and getting a stage 2 + map im just wondering what sort of power my car will be running at after these mods, or would it just be easier to do a ko4 conversion ,any help gratefully recieved thanks,

Assuming your engine is sound a stage 2 could be anywhere between 220 and 240 bhp depending on what else you've done to the car.

You will definately need a FMIC otherwise you won't consistently get that kind of power.

A K04 on the other hand you should be good for 225bhp for starters and stage 2 remappable up to about 270bhp.

Some members on here (not naming any names) have spent a good few grand on getting their cars to stage 2 and for that money you could get a K04 swap. But don't forget whichever option you go for the suspension and brakes need to be up to it.

is 250bhp from a ko3 setup an acheiveable goal, my friends got a mk2 leon cupra and that dyno'd at 315bhp and 310lb ft with just a map and intake ,i cant believe how easy it is to tune those tfsi ko4's. i just want to make that massive difference between our cars smaller and get as much power as i can without breaking the bank

You wont get 250bhp from a KO3s with just a map and intake

More like 210bhp if you get a generic map

What you can get with the aid of a good quality turbo back exhaust, fmic, custom remap etc.... is approx 260 lbf of torque @ 3800rpm which IMO is what a KO3s does best.

The above mods ar'nt cheap.... and once done they will highlight problems with the Octy vrs, like the brakes, suspension, diff, etc are not up to the job.

All can be sorted but its not cheap

its my friends cupra thats just got map and intake, im looking at getting full exaust including down pipe, hpfp, intercooler and custom map, its allready got a cai and just wondered if 250bhp was acheivable from these mods

no its not 225 max

no its not 225 max

Who is Max........or should that say buddy?

Save yourself lots of money and leave the car as is.

I bet you can get more than 225 out of it.

Mine dyno'd at 207 at the wheels but no-one believes the figures :D

Mine is running 225 with just over 260 lbs torque with stage 2 FMIC and all the mods in my signature.

You are not going to get no where near 250 on a KO3s simple as that.

Your mates Cupra already starts off with approx 240 hp so is on to a winner from the get go. The Bigger turbo on it also makes a higher percentage hp gain on a remap than a KO3s. If you fit a KO4 then you will get around 270 hp. That is not to say the octy is not fun though as it is.

Getting power down on a remapped vrs is also fun and that is a challenge.

Need to get mine dyno'd again after I fit my FMIC. There's apparently another dyno place in Wellington.

To the OP - if you want a car as quick as your mates it would be cheaper to sell the Octy and buy a 15 year old Scoob or something that's already been played about with. The problem with the Octy VRS is there is a massive jump in cost between modifying it to get another 30bhp out of it and modifying it to get any more on top of that.

should be good for 300bhpwhen you put the front mount on :giggle::rofl:

my main aim is to hit 250bhp rather than be as fast as my mates cupra

Then your only options are to bolt a bigger K04 turbo or hybrid K03s turbo (uses K04 internals)

Or fit a BAM engine from a Cupra R Mk1 or Audi TT 225HBP model that comes with K04 turbo.

Either way you will need to upgrade the FMIC , use a Cupra ECU or map your ECU and change MAF., Injectors and exhaust downpipe for the K04 turbo
