Massive Loss of Power, Every single day! help

Featured Replies

Hi everyone, I need an question answering urgently, I have a Y plate Occy as standard except for a stainless steel dump valve. My question is this: In a morning or after a period of inactivity, say about 6 hours Min, I suffer massive engine trouble, not when idling but after start up as I lift the clutch to pull away, the revs drop to around 400 rpm and and it wont pick up again for about 10 seconds, during this time she is completely unresponsive to any input from me, Power steering goes off, radio dies and even the headlights go out! after the 10 secs she drives fine. any suggestions? main dealer is flummoxed. any help greatly received. cheers, Coops

Sounds like air is getting into the fuel lines or maybe a bad fuel pump.

Best guess is that there is a bad seal allowing air to get in. Check all the joints.

thanks for the quick reply mate, what am i looking for and where?

My old cupra did a similar thing. One of the man air lines had perished badly

Could be very similar. Take the covers off and run your fingers around the air hoses.

After i got the first one sorted. Found that another had gone lol
