Sat Nav & i pod

Featured Replies

Hi, I have the original stream head unit in my 06 octavia estate with the the cd changer in the boot. I want to attach an i pod and also want a sat nav . Is it best to change the head unit to the MFD2 unit and if so can i still us the cd changer and attach an ipod? The installation does not look like a problem but does it have a aux socket on the front?

Thanks

The MFD2 is pretty old now, I would spend a little extra for a MFD3 unit instead.

I use a Dension Gateway 100 interface with my MFD3. I don't get any track info on the MFD3 display, although I belief that the newer interfaces do provide this function ( I stand to be corrected on this) I used to use CD changer retention interface on the original Stream radio but can't get it to work on the MFD3.

With 20gb storage available on the MFD3 and an Ipod why would you need a cd multichanger? I don't miss mine

Thanks,

What's the spec on the MFD3? Is it easy to change to and will it do the things i want?

It'll do what you want but differently! The CD changer wont work but you dont need it, the MFD3 has a 20GB internal hard drive for music+nav maps, and a SD card slot so you dont need to bother with Ipod (which you can still connect if you really need to) It does have a single CD slot but I never bother with them as it has the hard drive, It has a touch and colour screen. Plenty of threads and pics about it on the forum.

It's as easy to fit as the MFD2, ten minutes shoud do the job.
