Heater probs.

Today the heater in my '06 Octavia 2.0 tdi Ambient has gone a bit strange. I can get maximum heat or cold but little in between. Also, there is no difference in the blower speed when selecting reverse. I have heard of heater flap motor problems on Fabia's but not Octavia's. Is this the fault?

Can the flap motor be reset or is it f....d!!! You can hear something constantly clicking away behind the dash somewhere as if it is trying to do something.

All suggestions greatly appreciated.
