MK1 VRS, what do you think its worth?

Featured Replies

Thinking of parting with my Octavia mk1 vrs ( dont worry after a new shape one!) but no sure what its worth.

Here goes-

2002 black magic hatchback octavia vrs

Miles - 86,0000

I previous owner

FSH, 10 months tax, will have a full years mot

no dents, small chips in the bonnet from stones.

In side is in very good nick, had seat covers on for the last 2 years.

Everything works.

Had the timing belt and water pump done at 70,000

scotchgard paint work and upholstery

Polished with carnauba wax once a month

Also a few mods-

stage 1 remap at 210 bhp

Carbonio CAI

Forge 007 divert valve

N75J valve

Lower S3 brace

Colour coded front grill

Silicone y breather pipe

All in all, a good car that I have had for four years (never kept a car that long normally)

How much do you guys think its worth? Also, is it worth returning the car to standard to sell it?

Having recently been shopping for a vRS, I found that prices vary by quite some degree as with any other marque/model. This is what I found when looking:

Small dealers/traders from home that say they're not traders...130K plus cars, patchy history with MOT but either no tax or not a lot of tax but basically sound £3.5K>£3.9k

Main dealers/larger independent - Less than 100k and mostly less than 60k £4.5k but usually FSH and service included in sale etc...

Private - tended to be better than dealers, enthusiast owned, FSH (even if independent garage), some sensible mods (like yours) some not, most tended to be in the £2.5k>£3.5K.

I bought mine from a small dealer, he hid the ECL/ASR lights somehow but it drives fantastic, it needed tyres and a service (ball joint required) but I only paid £2100. It's standard, has FSH, 70K and it's a 2001.

Price it well and it'll sell really quickly, just be prepared for the "whats the minimum you'll take?" phonecalls. I always say I'm not negotiating on the phone but they are welcome to come and view my car.

Good look with the sale, get some cracking pics to help it on the way.

3k-3.25k

replied to your pm mate.and defo interested.pics please

I'd say £3800 but go down to £3200 if you really need to get rid of it.

Quite appealing with the belt having just been done

I paid £5000 for mine 2 years ago with the same mileage as yours, from a dealer, but would hazard a guess it's worth less than half that now :'(

I bought mine 2 weeks ago and paid £4100 for it, its a 03 plate in silver from a large(ish) dealer, 70k miles, full skoda history inc. belt/water pump changed at 60k ish and that was including a new tyre a service and MOT.

I can vouch that the car is in mint order and has never gone without anything.

that sounds good.all bein well i will be goin to see it with a view to buying

I picked up mine from a small trader via AutoTrader.

51 plate RS in black with 69k and full skoda history (belt changed)

4 new tyres and an aftermarket alarm.

Is due a service soon and has a few marks, minor scrape on one arch but is otherwise sound.

I paid £3500 and they taxed it as well so effectively i paid £3380 from them.
