I was worried you had just had a second Noodles delivered! Nice grey shiny things emoticon-0148-yes.gif

Did the Mini Wookie come free :)

Have you ever seen Rob pictures of Noodles? She is the most photogenic and slightly mad dog I have ever seen emoticon-0100-smile.gif

First time I saw that I thought you'd dressed the dog in the bubble wrap! :giggle:

sweeeeeet. you doing a write up on this too Rob? would be interesting to see the amount of work needed to fit one of those bad boys

On a side note..is this the "jetta" style kit where the pipe routes over the top of the engine?

Oh yes there will be many photos.

It routes down the right hand side of the engine.

It's for a MkIV Golf so it will need a MAP sensor pipe and some other changes at the throttle body end. I have a Forge pipe already but I'm not sure yet if I have enough joiners and things.

Oh, and it came with no instructions so it's shiny puzzle time!

MMMMMMMM Nice shiny stuff you have there mate.

I love getting packages like that. Not that I get many! :(

i think these ebay kits are good value for money and if you do one of your great write up it might be possible for more of us to be able to do it too!

Is this one of the ebay kits Rob?

Are you planning on getting it RR'd afterwards to see if there is a difference over multiple runs?

My mate wants to buy one for his VRS and the price does seem very good but the only thing that bothers me is in the ebay pictures when you look at the size of the cooler itself it doesn't look that much bigger than the SMIC. Does anyone know how it compares size wise to say the ABD or Forge coolers?

Notice there are pics of 2 different types  - and the pressure sensor bit on mine is just a 25mm sticky-out bit! Some modification is definitely needed :D

Okay I have two problems:

The first is that there's a connection that's supposed to be for the MAP sensor but it doesn't have the flange that it should even though that's what's pictured in the instructions (such as they are!)

This is the pipe:

Pictured next to a Forge MAP sensor pipe and a BOV adapter pipe:

My first thought was to try and re-create this pipe using the Forge pipe and some silicone joiners and stuff but the Forge pipe is too long to do this I think, and I'd lose the connection for the relocated DV (hence the BOV pipe I have)

So my next thought is to find a metal fabrication place who can convert the existing connection to a flanged one and add a 25mm pipe for my DV.

The second issue is that there are no brackets included and nothing to connect a bracket to on the intercooler core!

Just these sticky-up bits which could be drilled to enable a bolt or bracket to pass through.

These are the reasons for the cheapness :)

if you find a fabrication place to do the connector im sure they would be able to weld you a couple of brackets to the intercooler to mount it, would just mean mock fitting it and getting the correct measurements first
