Newbie Detailer!

Featured Replies

One boring saturday.....i took a trip to my freinds, and did a full detail on my motor :D

The paintwork on it was pretty much spottless before i started anyway, so i was just looking to get a nice shine and protect the paintwork :)

I thaught i would make a thread up so if anybody has got any further advise, or if im doing it completely wrong just call me a twozzock and tell me what i need to do differently. all comments welcome :)

Pictures are pretty poor, plus i didnt get any up close to see the paintwork - apologies :)

Help is much appreciated.

So, here goes.....

Car wasnt to dirty, but like i said i love cleaning it.

Before we started :

Jetwashed her off to loosen anything, including myself & got the snow foamy thingy ready

Then got cracking with the CYC snow foam, did this once left for a short while then, jetwashed car again.

Then got the Megs wheel cleaner / brightener out, went around the wheels.

Then went around the plastics, door shuts & sills / any murky looking bits (there was actually very little dirt) with Megs All purpose cleaner

Incase anybody wants to see what im using :

Snowfoamed again

Jetwashed the snowfoam off after a while, then started the washing process. Shampood with dodo juice btbm and mitt

Ofcourse, no blades used, nice mitt and the two bucket method including grit tray.

Dried the car with a miracle dryer ultra abosorbant drying towel, orded one of these today as i was so pleased with it.

Polished the car with AG super resin polish.

Got the polish off, then cleaned the windows inside & polished the windows using AG glass polish & megs window cleaner

I then Waxed the car using fkp1000p

Then dressed the trims with vp yellow, dressed the tyres using megs indurance , waxed the wheels, put a new air freshener in, away i went to get some shots! :)

Very nice, i do like your car

Good job...BUT the Snow foam will be more effective at removing dirt if you use the Snow Foam lance BEFORE pressure washing the car

As said over on BucksVAG mate, top work and those wheels suit the Fabia perfectly...........

Ofcourse mate, if you have the time to do it and you can seal them up with some Collinite which will make washing a lot easier...........
