I'm seriously thinking of fitting a de-cat to my vrs,can't justify the cost of a sports cat,I'm not bothered about mot time as I'm a mot tester,been looking at de-cats on eBay,but noticed blueflame do a downpipe,de-cat now priced at £200,does anybody think the blueflame is worth the extra £100 over a eBay de-cat?

i brought an ebay de cat for £100 then got a 200 cel sports cat welded into it, saved me £200 on the miltec downpipe and sports cat

Not sure really as all the decats are approx the same.

States for Golf, but all the same for Seat, Skoda, VW 1.8 turbos. I won a new one for £72. Can't be bad and sounds nice. I just need a friendly MOT guy around June time.

I think for a £100 a decat is a worthwhile mod as long as you can find a mot station who turns a blind eye to the emmissons,that side doesnt affect me as im a mot tester,the only side that bothers me is an engine management fault,but im going to space the rear sensor out the exhaust,if that doesnt work i will see if i can get it remaped out,i have a chipped uk remap,so i dont know.

Is there a sensor in the cat? If so, why not just have a sleeve made up for it ?

I'm tempted to decat mine as it's made a huge difference on my previous cars

they have a sensor before and after the cat. it does make a difference to both performance and sound fitting a de cat i ran mine for about 400 mile without a cel light coming on but my mot tester is not so friendly so i had to get a 200 cel sports cat welded into it.

mine was a non silenced one off of ebay
