New TV ordered

Featured Replies

Found a deal a couldn't resist on Monday so ordered a Spny 40W5810  to replace the CRT.Will be sorry to see the CRT go emoticon-0106-crying.gif as it's a cracking picture and just hope i don't regret changing.

Just bloody waiting for delivery now.

Was hoping for the Samsung 46" 8000 series but that is 3x the cost of this.

Must say I am a little disappointed in the picture from my Freeview+ box on my 32W5500 - I imagine it is because of the SCART connection and the TV doing the upscaling.

The built in tuner looks much better.

I console myself with the fact it is all part of a bigger plan to get a Freeview HD PVR as soon as they get released.

BluRays at 1080p look amazing though.

Blu-ray player from upstairs will come downstairs and i have Virgin so may upgrade to HD.

5810 model has freeview and Freesat so may downgrade to just a disk.

Cheers Tom.

I do have a Atacama Equinox AV stand + extra shelf but i gave that to my Mum.

I'm sure i can have it back and buy her a cheap one.:giggle:

I had a 'mare with stands.

To be more accurate SWMBO had very specific material & appearance demands that needed to be met to keep the decor of the livingroom acceptable.

I ended up spending more time and money on a stand (read 100KG of oiled oak cast into a slab) than on the goddamn TV.
