EGR Valve removal and bypass

Featured Replies

I've a Fabia vRS and I've currently got a small leak from the gasket around the EGR valve, and It go me thinking...

I'm considering putting a bypass tube in (removing the EGR all together)...

Now...

1. Is it legal? (emissions etc..)

2. Can anyone confirm if they have had theirs done and how has it effected the MOT emissions?

3. Does anyone have any recommendations of a supplier.. I've found these guys so far:

Thanks.

Phil.

Not sure about the VRS but I had a Rover 75 diesel and bypassed the EGR without any problems whatsoever - never had a problem with MOT

Think about what it does. Then think about the MOT and the fact it doesn't test emmissions just smoke...

1. Yes.

2. Yes, and irrelevant.

3. No need, just disconnect the vacuum pipe.
