That looks like all the bits removed to me for the SAI. What metal bracket is referred to. unless you mean the bracket holding the N249, N112 valves. Did you remove those too?

the metal bracket that the pump fits in, its held on by 2 big allen key bolts bolted to the block

I see , was looking at Robs pic so thought you had removed it

It is held on with 3 allen bolts the top one is a pain to get to. You will need a Allen socket and a knuckle socket joint with a few extension bars to make it easier.

oh i see it could well be stopping there till i get home then :thumbup:

i got mine off easy enough from under the car without a knuckle, just straight bar and ratchet ;)

I used this to get the bottom two out:

And I had to go buy an 8mm allen bit for my socket set to shift the top one. Just needed an extension to get to it.

Sorry to seem dumb here, fairly new to bits like this.

My mk4 golf never had this so had no neec to remove it.

What is the benefit of removing it?

SAI system injects extra air when the engine is cold to make the cat more efficient for the first 60-90 seconds of running

This is to meet cold-start emissions regulations in certain parts of the world.

mine pump was falling apart as the rivets are prone to break so rather than repair people tend to remove :giggle:

and it gets rid of some pipes and tidies things up a bit B)
