Fabia SDI thermostat..where is it?

Featured Replies

The temperature gauge on my fabia SDi 2002 is very erratic. I managed to find the coolant temp sensor and removed the whole housing to check the thermostat but it's not there.

Where on earth is it? I checked almost everywhere but can't locate it. The 1.4 MPI has the thermostat in the same housing as the temp sensor..but not this.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

The thermostat is in a different place to the sensor - I think somewhere horrible down the bottom of the engine. Sounds like you have a sensor fault though, as a failed thermostat will either cause the engine to overheat consistently (stuck closed) or never warm up (stuck open).

So's reading posts properly, you smug so-and-so - the OP already knows where the sensor is! :p
