Alooy Wheel Change - Insurance Increase?

Featured Replies

Having gone for Brimmas lovely prorace 1.2's Im curious as to peoples experiences in changing alloys with regards to your insurance, price increases, etc? and if so, what companies, etc?

Im basically going from 18" Zeniths to the 18" Prorace 1.2's in black, so literally its just design and colour change, not upgrading of wheel size or going from steels to alloys.

Currently with esure but I have no customer loyalty with these companies so dont mind changing to go with the cheapest or most accomodating.

Any help gratefully received

It is hard to answer you question as the answer could vary from:

1) your insurers will cancel your policy as no mods allowed

2) your insurer could demand a huge increase in premium becuase the car is modified

3) Your insurer could note the change as a cosmetic modification with no change in premium.

Refer to number 3 if you are a Sky Insurance customer.
