Wipers smearing

Featured Replies

OK washed my car on monday and applied a new coat of halford rain repellent to the windscreen.

Yesterday it rained and i had to use my wipers and they were smearing the windscreen for around upto1 second.

Any tips as to how to stop them smearing as this isnt great when its sunny or in the dark and there are oncomming car lights as it glares up and reduces visability?

Car isnt even a month old yet so wipers should be in good working order still.

Rub a bit of kitchen towel with some fairy liquid along the length of the rubber. Get another kitchen towel soaked with just water, rub along the length to lift the fairy liquid. 3rd slice of kitchen paper to dry the blade off but not 100% necessary.

Was it Smearing before the repellent was added ??

As above, I always find cleaning the Blades helps .... Although i use Glass cleaner on some Kitchen Towel :D
