Looking for the fuse box, it says in the owners manual that it's on the drivers side behind (on the end?) the dash, but I can't see how to get into it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

theres a cover on the end of the dashboard (you'll have to open the drivers door to see it) its under there

Thanks for inspiring me to look again. I had already looked at that piece of plastic, but decided that it looked too permanent to have a fuse box behind it. On closer inspection, there is indeed an arrow pointing to a corner, where you can prise the plastic off using your car key. Thanks again,

Yes it is the end plate ,where the side window vents you just put your key or 50p piece in tiny slot at bottom and gently tug . Explained in manual as well. <drivers side dashboard end plate >

Sounds like it's referring to a European (LHD) version. If you look at the diagram of the fuse board in the Haynes Manual it's the wrong way round as well, as if it's for a LHD version.
