1.6 pickup - reanimation!

Featured Replies

Evening All!

it's been a while- my pickup has been stored for almost a year with a fried engine wiring loom- been working away so not had time to sort it out.

Well, finally bought a 1.6 donor Felly- happens to be a standard saloon no powerful steering but abs & central locking!

the pickup its going into has power steering no central locking and no abs..

Really I only need the engine/ ECU loom- but will swap the the complete front end loom if I need to/ or if it doesn't split- I'm guessing I can 'unplug' it from the fuse box??

not going to try and retrofit the ABS- I know it will be more problems than its worth..

Anyone know if the loom layout/ ECU pins differ between years.. I don't really want to fry the new loom!!

just want to get it back on the road..

any suggestions or tips to make the reanimation easier?????

Cheers!

Steve

yes, the loom will split easily from the main loom, there are just 2 connectors up to the right of the battery...

the loom will be slightly different on a car with abs, but it should work ok though, all the pins to and from the ecu are the same
