Ordered my yeti experience

Featured Replies

Ordered my black yeti experience here in Ireland. There telling me theres a massivly long waiting list on these as they can only manufacture 100 glass roofs per week, so now what there doing here is offering sat nav instead of having the roof, which to me completly goes against the purpose of these! Now im told i could be waiting till november for the car! which to me sounds rediculous!:( I dont know how these cars arent readly to ship without these massive waiting times:(

I'm in Ireland too and ordered my Yeti Experience 2 weeks ago, availing of the Irish Scrappage Scheme. Yesterday, got the same offer to swap my sunroof for sat nav but would rather wait. Hadn't heard that the wait would be till November though, talk about missing the sunroof season!

What is concerning me, apart from the inconvenience of the wait, is that it means delivery is coming dangerously close to the end of the scrappage scheme and if they are saying November now, another 4 weeks slippage is very likely. To avail of scrappage the car must be registered by 31st Dec 2010.

Does this potentially affect anyone else?

It was a salesman told me november but i think thats a bit hard to believe! I was told 6 weeks wait yesterday by the owner. One of the salesmen told me november:( But the sun roof is the whole part of the experience model. Sat nav is just a way of skoda Ireland getting out of the situation.:)

Just to update on my previous post, Yeti Experience ordered 10th April and the dealer contacted me today and said that Skoda Ireland has confirmed that due to the panoramic sunroof supplier issues they do not expect that there will be any Experience models delivered to Ireland before the end of the year. Time to apply more Blu Tac and Gaffa tape to my humble Punto and play more of the waiting game.

Hopefully Irish scrappage scheme will be extended for first quarter of 2011 like it was in UK. Would have my doubts as it seems the scheme hasn't been the roaring success that it was in the UK and is of limited benefit to our 'economy' as we have no car manufacturing here since the Delorian ;-)

anyone know what ship ships skodas to Ireland?:)

African Highway

Looked at an experience model in a dealers yesterday and was told that along with no sunroof as standard, the sat nav is off the cards as well. There was park assist on the model. so I don't know if thats in place of the sat nav.
