there is a sticky post on here for that reason exactly!!

but to clarify it, it boils down to two choices

5w 30 VW507 spec or 5w40 VW 505.01 spec. Both are fully synthetic. I think the 5w30 is probably more expensive as it is a newer spec and covers backwards compatibility for older petrols and diesels. 5w40 tends to be the most popular choice as it was originally what the vRS was specified to run on.

You will need to check the data sheets on the oils and make sure it has those VW specs, to be sure.

Sorry to hi-jack the thread but it seems relevant to the topic at hand. How much oil does the fabia take? I bought 5 litres last service but as I don't do the work myself I'm unsure how much of it was used. Just purchasing my bits off euro car parts at the minute and they only seem to have 4L bottles, is that going to be sufficient or am i going to need to purchase an extra litre?

IIRC the PD130 engine uses 4.5ltr with an oil filter change

I've just bought 5 litres of this for topping up.

It's on the list

Has anybody on here actually used this stuff??

Until I bought it I hadn't heard of the brand...

That's what I have been using for the last 4 years - no problems.

Pretty good price at eurocarparts

No oil use between oil changes and fuel economy the same.

I aways use Skoda's own stuff, Costs £20 for 5 Litres, at that price I normally change it every 4 months
