CD Changer/ GAMMA

Featured Replies

Ok, it's not Skoda specific, so i guess this message is directed more at Andy-ccr if he's around sometime.........

I need to fit a cd-multichanger to a 2001 Passat. It's got the standard GAMMA Radio/Cassette thing installed, which includes controls for a CD changer.

How much would your guys (iirc, you've got a shop in manchester) charge to fit, and how long will you need it for?

Just totally put off my the VW costs -

I'd go out and buy a Sony changer from in car express for

Javaman,

There seem to be quite a few people getting rid of their standard multichangers on the forum, as they aren't compatible with aftermarket HUs. Surely you could pick up a mint second hand unit with leads on the forum for next to nothing.

Drop a wanted note onto the ICE forum.

I am assuming you do require the unit since yuo quoted its cost at the VW stealers.

question is "How easy is it to fit", given I have a plate of finest Walls bangers for fingers and possess the DIY prowess of a drug-addled chimp and struggle to find my a$$ with both hands, a flashlight and a GPS system, as they say!

TBH, it's hassle I can do without and I'd rather let the Pro's handle it.....Andy-CCR, you getting all this..? ;)

It's pretty easy to fit - dexterity is not a requirement, but patience is. And somewhere with a bit of room, light, and protection from the bitter northern weather is preferable... :)
