Scout exhaust trim

Featured Replies

I see the Scout comes with an exhaust trim. Is it the same one that I had fitted when I purchased my 1.9Tdi ? Reason I ask is the Scout I saw at the dealers the trim didnt look as good as my current one. For the sake of £50 I'll ask the dealer to fit one if it's not the same.

I think the chromed straight twin pipes on my Scout look great - especially just after being polished.

There's no tacky clip/screw-on trim, the chrome pipes come straight out of the back box

What type of additional trim do you think would make them look better?

Well when I purchased my 1.9 I also had the Chrome Pipes fitted. I could be remembering this wrong but the Scout pipes looked a bit .... 'skinny'. Cant think of a better way of desctibing them. Have a look in the acces pdf to see what I mean.

Just an update on this if any Scout owners can help. It says in the brochure the Scout tailpipes are Stainless. The tailpipes I had fitted to my 1.9 are chromed it says in the brochure and they do look good.

Can someone post a pic of their Scout tailpipes ?

Perfect ! Fantastic find. Many thanks for that. Yes the trim I have on the Elegance looks much better but I suppose their are pro's and cons. The Scout Tailpipes are Stainless so I guess will be harder wearing than the Chrome Tailpipes.

mmm... I'll have th have a think about it. Again many thanks for taking the time to look !

Mine look like the pic. They are stainless, but do have the appearance (a little) of being a pair of pea-shooters.

I think this is really because they do not have a rolled lip.

Ahh... Just looked at the new Accessories Brochure. Looks like the Chrome Trim is no longer available. Just says Stainless Trim which I guess will be what comes as standard anyway. Thats a shame.

Well, if you come back in an hour I will pop a pic of mine up too.

Gotta go read the meters once the phone has charged up.

Could be wrought iron until i wash it.

If I am honest, it is the gap between the tailpipes that makes them look like pea shooters, not the lip or size.

Thats great many thanks for that. They arnt that bad. The ones I have are double skinned and it makes them look much beefier. They are Chromed though so would eventually start to pit. I think i'll stick with the Stainless ones.

Just watch the sharp edges! They really do need a rolled edge - I managed to gash my hand quite badly on my FL Scout exhaust last weekend when I was washing it. I dread to think what would happen if a small child stumbled into that part of the car....
