Actually just fitted the Pipercross to my new Vrs (2.0 TDI CR) can't say if any difference but time will tell, only 1k so far.

K&N are probably the market leader.

Won't the K&N send the maf sensor do lally or has that theory gone by the by now , I remember this being the case from when I owned my LCR a few years back :'(

I have a K&N in for about 100,000kms and not a single problem.

I got an ITG panel, they are quite expensive but very good.

Ebay

What is the best one for any noticeable powergains, any evidence or stats on any websites?

I went for a Pipercross which I sourced on ebay. TBH I didn't notice any difference between that and the paper filter, I have since changed the entire intake for an Evoms which is excellent.

IMHO you're best off changing standard ones regularly as the paper filters give better filtration.
