Featured Replies

Hi all, so I mentioned in a few posts I was planning on fitting a 57i K&N induction kit to my Felicia.

Below are a few pictures of it fitted, if there is demand I may piece together a guide!

Enjoy!

yeah, write up a guide  it might help somebody else out...

p.s can you shrink down your pictures to 800x600 to make them more net friendly so they load quicker

how did it affect performance?

err you know that small pipe with the small filter on.. that was only a hot air feed into the airbox from the exhaust manifold, your best bet is to just pull it off the manifold and throw it in the bin before it sets something on fire :smirk:

i just stuck the filter straight on the end of the plastic pipe from the throttle body it seems to get plenty of cold air

good skills tho

Hi Ferrari Red, I just bought a 57i that had been on a vectra, the seller had lost the fitting kit so it was just the actual filter itself.

I've actually change the fitting since those pictures, I took the advice of a few people on here and bolted the filter straight onto the plastic throttle body cover (the plastic engine cover bit.). It's strong enough to hold it solid and cause its such a direct connection it performs better.

So all you need is the filter, a big Jubilee clip and you are done. However i'm still undecided as to what to do with the engine breather pipe. I clamped a small filter onto it (see pic) however others eg tom above opt for just removing it. Not sure of its purpose and or benefit of losing/ keeping it.

Hope it goes well!

the smaller pipe is just for hot air to be sucked in off the exhaust when the weather is really cold. just pull it off the shield over the exhaust and keep it with the old air box incase you ever want to return to std, its as simple as that really as it isn't serving any purpose now except for introducing hot air into the air stream etc
