I took it to a garage and they got the replacement part from "Andrew Page". It worked ok when i left, but then the brake lights failed about a week or so later. I took it in today and they said that the car is blowing fuses as soon as they change them,. So they told me to take it to an auto electrician!

how many contacts are they on the switch from AP ?

I suspect the problem is the garage, as I said before bit of a pig to fit, but what usually happens is the center bit of the plunger comes out, so all that needs doing is

resetting it, and refitting, but every one says you have to replace it, but on my sons Octy I removed the switch, reset it and refitted it and that was four years ago

I'm not technically minded, so i took it to an auto electrician. he said it was a faulty wire running in the boot up to the rear screan brake light. he charged me £40.
