Octavia 2 remote locking & stereo problems

Featured Replies

Hi

I have recently purchased a 2005 Skoda Octavia Mk2. There are two problems i have noticed with my car

Firstly the stereo does not operate with the ignition key, it turns on via the power button but when i put the key in the ignition it does not turn on or off. The stereo is the standard Skoda Stream stereo

Secondly the remote control fob does not operate the central locking, the central lockng works via the key but not by remote control. I have used VCDS to match the remote again using controller (46) adaptation channel 1, i have tries everything but don't know what the problem is can anyone help please

Can anyone help me on this?

With the stereo it only turns off when you remove the key from the ignition, it will remain on if you turn the ignition off but leave the key in. If I turn it off this way (i.e. taking the key out of the ignition) then when I put the key back in the ignition and turn it on the stereo turns on. Have you tired this?

As for the key the obvious thing would be to check/change the battery. Do you know if the key is actually sending a signal i.e. could the electronics be broken (someone dropped it into water etc).

when i put the key in and turn ignition on the stereo does not turn on i have to push the button on stereo to turn it on, if i leave stereo on and take key out of ignition the stereo still stays on.

The key has a new battery in it, just does not operate locking

Sounds like it may need a trip to the dealer for some work.
