Well, hopefully I've got myself a bargain. I've picked up an ex-Police Skoda Octavia vRS estate, 2005 Mark I with 135,000 miles on the clock. Sorting out tax etc now - picking it up on the 12th.

Not an undinged panel on the car, and no stereo, but mechanically it's pretty good, and it accelerates like a scalded cat. Essentially how I like my cars - looks like ****, goes like stink!

I've ordered one of those cheapy all in one head units from ebay (stereo, DVD, bluetooth phone, GPS etc) so I'll be bothering you all with advice as to how to install it!

The HU I've ordered hasn't arrived yet - I bought one of those £179 CD/DVD/Sat Nav/Bluetooth Jobbies from ebay. I'm tracking it through DHL at the moment and it's a case of:

The wires in the hole where the stereo should be looks pretty intact tbh, not that I really know what it's supposed to look like - all the wires have plastic thingies on the end, which I assume is a good thing!

OMG OMG it's at Heathrow!

It arrived at 4pm, so I may get it tomorrow or the day after!

I've not really bought anything expensive from abroad before - will I need to pick it up from the DHL place and pay customs charges etc?
