  1. Some how this came into my feed. It's more fun to watch than Formula E. https://youtu.be/o2tsSCAqwW8?si=pUhU8fs39QrMa33T
  2. Slow Horses on Apple TV+. (Free sub via somewhere) I couldn't see much else on there - had a look at Foundation and didn't hardly recognise the plot from the books.
  3. He's settled in well. Still miss the old two.
  4. As some of you may know that we lost both dogs recently, on the off chance that we would be able to get another Basset Fauve de Bretagne puppy we emailed a couple of breeders and we have just agreed to have a 12 month old youngster. Pictures will follow when we have picked him up. (
  5. Just back from the Vets, Dougal had several seizures this evening and passed away just after 11pm.
  6. Just dropped our other dog, Dougal(13), off at the vets for some tests. It appears he may have developed heart problems just like his younger sister who died at the beginning of Feb. Hopefully we have caught it early enough. Update: It is heart failure, vet hopeful that meds will work (same as Dinky had). Back home and he's had his tea and now asleep on the sofa.
  7. We’re thinking of moving from our house in Cheshire to a more rural location anywhere between Whitchurch to Welshpool and out to the Welsh Coast Machynlleth to New Quay. We’ve had several trips to this area and like it, but visiting isn’t the same as living there, so has anyone have any advice to living to any of the towns in this area?
  8. I have a few decrepit PCs, oldest are Sharp pocket PCs 1500 (2) with plotters that work, Sharp 1360, a Casio pocket pc ( with cassette interface), Texas Instruments Ti 84 plus ( bought so I could run BBC Basic on it), a DIP pocket PC (otherwise known as a Atari Portfolio runs MS Dos 2.1, lotus 123), several Win CE devices, Psion 3a , Acorn A7000 (cmos battery modified as originals will leak and eat the motherboard), Amstrad NC100 (also runs BBC basic), Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Pro V2010 laptop ( heavily modified the original 1.6 Celeron M CPU upgraded to a 2.0 Pentium M and a SSD installed running Win XP - used to run a HP scanner that had support dropped in Win 7). I also have a few PCs (5) /laptops (2) from the last ten years mostly running Win 10, apart from the HP microserver and a Dell 1600 workstation that both run Unraid. A bag full of PIs of various types, (1,2,3,4, pico ). Most of the stuff I can copy stuff to and fro (serial ports), the DIP is a bit awkward as it requires a serial port adapter and I have parallel port adapter. There is even a utility for the Casios to convert recorded programmes to Basic and vice versa, although I had to recompile the source code to get it to work on a modern 64bit OS. I also have a Commodore 16 which has been converted into a USB keyboard as the original MB was badly damaged.
  9. Lost of little dog Dinky yesterday a year after her being diagnosed with heart failure. She was such a character, although had many health problems, was brave and stubborn. She will be missed.
  10. They had been there for sometime as they had buy before end of December and get £750 discount stickers in the windows. (No BMWs only Minis on display.(
  11. Just come back from an hour "waiting appointment" from the local BMW dealers. Booked end of November for MOT for 8am today, got there just before, several people also waiting for the doors to be unlocked. I was about fourth in the queue as only one member of staff was booking people in. Booked the car in eventually at about quarter past eight. The BMW dealership at the moment is being run out of the Mini Dealership's premises as the BMW one's are being developed. This was the case in November when the car was serviced (and they were a bit of muddle - they hadn't printed the job sheets off.) Anyway, waited for a bit, gave them until 10am , (perhaps I should have gone earlier) then went to the Service desk and asked when my car would be ready. They said it's probably being washed (I didn't want it washed but they hadn't asked.) but they would go and check. They came back five minutes later saying it's only now going in! Very annoyed customer....😠. Even more annoyed that the service personnel implied it was my fault as they only got the key at 8:15 and the MOT chap had gone on to another vehicle! (which took him two hours apparently) .Finally exited at 11:20 with a reduced bill. Still annoyed though..... (almost as much as that Audi dealership did 10years ago and we've never darkened Audi's doorstep since). Waiting for the "How did they do?" email to come. (They seemed to have a lot of "new stock" laying around, but hardly any of the used or new stock was priced, in fact all the new vehicles didn't have any details on the Specification/price at all as they were all logged out. It's almost like they couldn't be bothered.)
  12. Three Pines on Amazon Prime. Detective murder series set in Quebec starring Alfred Molina. 4 episodes out, there's a background story arc about a missing girl, but there are separate stories that run over two episodes.
