Hi, [wave] newbie to Skoda.

Just like to say hi to everybody.

I've recently put down a deposit on an '04 Fabia 1.9TDi Elegance Estate... I'm having sleepness nights waiting for that special phone call :D

I've not been this excited since I bought my '98 Seat Ibiza 1.9TDi 4 years ago.

Welcome to Briskoda :hi:

I'm picking up tomorrow. I know I won't sleep tonight.

I've had a quick search for reprogramming keys, the guides I found are for 1997 onwards. Just to double check, would the same guide still apply to the '04 model? Before I start trying it and end up making it self destruct.

I got my car. I love it :D Any excuse to drive it :D

I got myself another spare key, turns out to be an updated version of mine. I beleive it was from an '05 Fabia

Just curious if there is anyone in the Dorset area who has access to VAG Tacho or somesuch equipment who wouldn't mind getting my SKC for my immobilizer so I can program my new key. There's defo a couple of beers in it. I've read a few horror/sob stories about Stealers not being very forthcoming or helpful with regards to this. Not being the confrontational type I'll try to avoid finding out first hand, until I actually need their help for something more serious... i.e. Something under warranty for example.

Welcome, get some photos up :)

Well it's nothing special. I'll get some photos taken tonight when I get home from work.

I've spent the last two days trying to find the best way to fit my Parrot. I don't want to make any holes or put fixings on the dash... Fussy I know. Are there any nice hidden cable holes which I can use to hide cables into the dash?

Have questions about keys (again). Is the blade/transponder part linked in anyway to the remote fob part? Can I swap the remote fob with a different blade/transponder and it still work? I've been trying for awhile to program another remote fob, but I'm not having much luck at all. I'm only trying to program the remote fob part. Is there any particular order which the keys have to be programmed; immo->remote or remote->immo, or can you do one without the other? I know that with the newer IMMO's you can't reprogram the transponders, is this also true with the remote fobs?

The key fobs which came with the car are HLO 1JO 959 753 AH and the new fob which I bought is HLO IJO 959 753 DA. According to these websites; clicky, clicky and clicky, the DA has superseeded the AH, so I would assume that it would work quite happily. I've followed this guide; clicky, but it won't seem to play ball. This will be the 3rd key (remote fob), is there anything that I am missing, staring me in the face??

Help :(
