Felicia Front Suspension

Featured Replies

I have a W reg Felicia 1.3 and have a question re noise from the front suspension.

The suspension is fine when driving straight on or with left hand lock on even when driving over bumps and pot holes etc, i.e. sounds and feels normal - no bumps etc.

When I have right hand lock on and go over bumps, the drivers side is fine, but if the nearside wheel goes over rough or bumpy surfaces, it sounds a bit "rough".

Not banging or knocking, just a bit more chattery if that makes sense.

Any ideas what this is likely to be and is it expensive?

I can't find anything loose underneath.

Thanks,

Phil

is it a rhythmic chattering noise which relates to the speed?? if so i would suggest a worn cv joint

Thanks for the suggestion, but no its not the CV joint. I've had that on other cars and know how that sounds. Clicking on full lock etc.

It's difficult to describe, but its almost as if the shocker was duff and it was letting the wheel bounce unrestrained.

As I said though, in every other way it feels / sounds fine, its only from the nearside wheel when turning right.

could be a whole number of things, possibly wheel bearing or worn ball joint, or worn top mount..
