Octy 2 VRS FL Columbus sound"washes out" at half volume.

Hi all. Got a really rather annoying fault with the Columbus system, as in it washes out and distorts the sound before I hit half volume on the unit. I can adjust all the settings on the tone menu to try and correct it, but are the speakers just that ****e they can't take the volume? I've installed the majority of my past cars stereo's with amps, components and subs, but this system seemed good on paper. It just nanny's me to listening to barely audible music at time, when the windows are down etc!
